This is the third and final post of the miniseries Arups on Engineering. Previously we talked about the concepts of Learning Society and Integrated Design present in the various tests that make up the book on Engineering Arups. In this post we focus on her famous “Key Speech” than Ove Arup conducted in 1970.

These 13 hold the key points of how to act in the firm founded in 1946. Concepts such as quality of work, satisfaction of the parties involved in the project, reputation, social consciousness and even explain why economic solvency of the horizontal expansion of the company. Ove Arup seeks to achieve the perfect solution (in full awareness of the impossibility of this fact) by fully integrating the various disciplines involved in the creative process.
In Key Speech logically intertwined, yet daring the different questions that the leaders of any group of designers have to ask when confronting the path ahead at work everyday.
Nowadays, 40 years after its original publication, la Key Speech continues to be presented to new employees of the company. Its value as a source of tremendous inspiration is undoubtedly.
