Last Monday, February 22 , opened the last jewel from prestigious Swiss University Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL). The new building will embody the philosophy and style from entire institution. At the Rolex Learning Center, the structure and form melt together to create a setting that promotes collaborative multidisciplinary activities and research, laying the foundations for the new science and technology.

Emergency Shelter Structures

Unfortunately once again a humanitarian catastrophe has created thousands of refugees. For decades, designers have thought and re-designed a solution to provide emergency shelter to those affected by natural disaster, war or socio-economic imbalances. The solutions vary widely, from prefabricated structures and shipping containers to simple sheets of polyurethane. But in reality, as noted The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in its guidelines on emergency materials, these proposals have not worked effectively in its work to protect and give temporary shelter to thousands of thousands of displaced, An effective solution is yet to be designed.

Evolver, Swiss Alpine Viewpoint

Evolver is an artifact-observatory involved in the Alpine landscape Zermatt , Switzerland. In an attempt to maximize the advantageous location and its breathtaking views, The project sits strategically at the lake Stelli at an altitude of 2,536 m.

Bird Observatory over the Ebro river

Following the series of short articles on wood structural performances, we present this bird observatory on the river Ebro. Unlike other observatories such as the ornithological Graswarder, This viewpoint is not erected as a tower but it adapts to the rugged terrain on the banks of the river Ebro in bold extending cantilever.
