The Trift bridge in the Swiss Alps

Over the Thrift glacier tip in the Swiss Alps, this year, has been constructed a spectacular suspension bridge. The 170 meters long bridge describe a perfect Catenary over a 100 meters above the glacier. Krúsrak Bridge. Wood at the highest level

Last 15 April a new bridge was inaugurated in the Dutch city of Sneek. The sexy wooden structure attracts attention of drivers on the motorway A7 passing beneath. This design represents an important step towards the use of sustainable materials in the higher-level structures.

It all started when the government of the Netherlands province of Friesland and the Public Works Department expressed the desire to use more wood in their buildings…

Evolver, Swiss Alpine Viewpoint

Evolver is an artifact-observatory involved in the Alpine landscape Zermatt , Switzerland. In an attempt to maximize the advantageous location and its breathtaking views, The project sits strategically at the lake Stelli at an altitude of 2,536 m.

The piece has been designed and built by satudents from ALICE, Swiss architecture laboratory dependent from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lusanne…

Bird Observatory over the Ebro river

Following the series of short articles on wood structural performances, we present this bird observatory on the river Ebro. Unlike other observatories such as the ornithological Graswarder, This viewpoint is not erected as a tower but it adapts to the rugged terrain on the banks of the river Ebro in bold extending cantilever.

Bird Observatory Graswarder
