Finalists Footbridge 2011. Aesthetics Category: Short Span

This week, the shortlist has been announced for the finalists of the prestigious Footbridge Awards to be awarded next 6 th of July during the Footbridge 2011 event in Wroclaw, Poland.

This article reviews the proposals selected as the best pedestrian bridges opened to public between 2008 and 2010 whose major span does not exceed 30 meters.

The Trift bridge in the Swiss Alps

Krúsrak Bridge. Wood at the highest level

Last 15 April a new bridge was inaugurated in the Dutch city of Sneek. The attractive wooden structure attracts the attention of Dutch drivers A7 motorway passing beneath. This design represents an important step towards the use of sustainable materials in the higher-level structures.
